‘Running out of Time’

I think about this constantly

like 21/7, on average

And I know this because everyone talks about time a lot

It’s refreshing to be obsessed with time passing, rather than the weather

But what are we going to do with all our spare hours, ore, heurs?

missing longing crying

(washing our hands)

cooking eating drinking

(washing our hands)

sleeping fucking play-fighting

(washing our hands)

but mostly masturbating because “you are your safest sex partner” as long as you’re

(washing your hands)

refreshing bank statements and applying for benefits

(washing our hands)

another episode of the office another episode of the office another episode of…

Netflix, are you still watching us?  I have not washed my hands

Will the minutes retreat slowly like a tide?

And what debris are we going to find on the long wet seashore left uncovered at the end of it all?

Bills

Bodies

Bills

And not much time at all

Let me put my name in your mouth like a secret

Because it’s gonna be carnage
